At the stroom, we know your wedding day is one of the most important in your life.

The stroom's function rooms offer a refreshing alternative to a hotel or registry office. We provide a stylish venue, beautiful food and wines, a range of entertainment and unrivalled service, all at great value for money. More importantly, perhaps, we are committed to making sure your day is truly special.

All our rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies, although weddings are usually held in the queen's room, where many couples also chose to host their wedding breakfast before moving on the Cellar Bar for an evening disco.

We can accommodate up to 90 guests for a civil ceremony and wedding breakfast and 120 guests for an informal evening buffet/disco.

We are incredibly flexible and, because all weddings differ, we offer an all-inclusive package (including room hire, wedding breakfast, wine & toasts, evening buffet and DJ) or a build your own option.

Private Parties

The stroom’s queen's room and cellar bar are both well established as party venues and are the perfect setting for any party - Birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, reunions or club/award presentation dinners - and are open for you to book privately any day until 12.30am in the evening.

We can provide a formal dinner menu or a buffet to best suit your party needs.

We are happy to accommodate the type of day or evening event you're after, whether that's a glamorous evening or a funky disco.

To make life extra easy for you, we can take care of DJ bookings and all musical entertainment. We'll also work with you to create the setting you want, whether you wish to decorate the room with balloons or move the furniture!

All rooms are fully licensed and the bars stay open until midnight. Both have a permanent dance floor and DJ booth.

Corporate Events

Whether you require a modern, vibrant venue for informal meetings or a more traditional arena for conferences and training courses, the stroom can accommodate all of your business needs.

Choose from our queen’s room or the cellar bar,

queen’s room - Full Day £140 - Half Day £100 - Evenings £100 Seats up to 90

cellar bar - Full Day £120 - Half Day £85 - Evenings £100 The Cellar Bar will seat approximately 60 delegates in the main atrium. Because of its intricate floor plan, the room is also perfect for business seminars where group work is a major part of the day.

Staff will work with you to create the setting you want. A flip board and projection screen are available free of charge. Any other equipment can be arranged on a hire basis, costs to be priced on request.

Refreshments and catering is available from any of our function menus or chose from:

• Coffee £15 per jug (10 cups)
• Tea £10 per jug (10 cups)
• Breakfast (Bacon baps, Croissants with preserve/butter and tea/coffee) £6.00 per delegate
• Buffet menus from £10.00 per delegate
• Hot meals available from £12.00 per delegate (One Course)

Please note:- Room hire available from approximately 9am to 12.30pm half day and 9am to 5pm full day, 7pm to 10pm evenings.

Room Hire Only

You are now able to book our function rooms on a room-only basis. This change means you now have the flexibility of providing your own buffet.

Room hire cost for the 'cellar bar' is £120 Tuesday to Friday & £160 on Saturday & Sunday, our 'queen’s room' is £160 Tuesday to Friday & £200 on Saturday & Sunday.

These prices apply for either day time or evening functions.

All rooms are fully licensed and the bars stay open until midnight. Both have a permanent dance floor and DJ booth.

An additional bond of £200 is required and is fully refundable after the party, subject to no damage/loss occurring.
