The stroom is a modern restaurant situated in the heart of Pudsey. We offer high quality food, sourced locally, and great value menus. Our contemporary yet unpretentious style and welcoming staff are sure to make your dining experience enjoyable.
Housed in Pudsey’s eighteenth century Conservative Club Building, the restaurant provides an eclectic mix of Victorian and modern. The décor is chic but comfortable and full of charm, including an original marble mosaic floor.

If the restauarnt experience were not enough, the stroom also has two beautiful function rooms, ‘the queens room’ and ‘cellar bar’ which are available for weddings, corporate events and parties. The queen’s room is also used to seat Sunday lunches.

The stroom is the realisation of owner, Richard Gibson’s childhood dream. Richard is Chef Patron and Manager. Born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, he grew up part of a catering family and trained in Leeds. He has worked in the Whit Sunday Islands, Australia and across his home County. Richard is supported in the business by his wife, Natalie.

Running the busy kitchen is Head Chef, Richard Guitton. ‘French Richard’ was born in the Loire Valley, France. He worked across Europe before coming to England in 1988 to work at the Millburn Arms Hotel near Pickering. There he worked alongside Michelin Star chef Andrew Pern now of the Star Inn, Harome, and won an AA Rosette.
